As we age, a natural part of the process is gradually losing the ability to focus on nearby objects. From around the age of 40 the lens within your eye becomes less flexible, it needs to be able to change shape to focus light onto your retina so you can see clearly.
You may notice that looking at your phone or ingredients on packets in the supermarket is becoming tricky and you need to adjust where you hold objects.
It’s nothing to worry about as this is a natural occurrence called Presbyopia and can be easily helped by wearing glasses or contact lenses.
